Academics
The St. John’s College School of Liberal Arts (SLA) has the longest continuous history of providing higher education to Belizeans. This strong foundation has kept the SLA at the forefront of excellence and innovation in education. SLA’s graduates benefit tremendously from the institution’s earned reputation for excellence.
Holistic Education
The School of Liberal Arts does more than lip-service to the idea of a well-rounded education. At SLA students will encounter learning both inside and outside of the classroom and in intellectually, spiritually, physically and socially meaningful ways. At SLA, holistic education happens on purpose, not by chance.
Scholarships and On-campus Employment
Each year, the School of Liberal Arts offers approximately $100,000.00 in financial assistance to students in need. The Landivar Scholarship Program offers incoming students the opportunity to enter the SLA for nothing more that the cost of books. On-campus Employment helps students with day-to-day living expenses without the need to spend hours away from school earning an equivalent amount.
Recognized for Leadership and Service to Community
SLA graduates can be found in leadership positions in every sector of our community. SLA graduates are trained in service and leadership through practical hands-on experiences in the classroom, numerous student organizations and community outreach. Each academic year, SLA students and faculty quietly perform over 10,000 hours of community service, living out the motto of “Men and Women for Others”.
