In 1890 British Honduras had a population of about 30,000 of which some 12,000 persons had resided in Belize and the Belize District. The remaining 18,000 comprised three main racial-cultural groups located in fairly distinct geographical regions throughout the towns and villages of the other districts of the colony. |
