LIBRARY
Mission Statement
St. John’s College Library promotes learning, teaching and scholarship by providing materials and resources that promote the curriculum of all Divisions; as well as providing materials for professional development and personal interests.
Vision Statement
As the center of St. John’s educational programs, the library strives to meet the changing needs of the College in a variety of ways:
-
By working closely with faculty and students to provide materials that meet course needs as well as personal needs
-
By developing instruction programs for library use
-
By setting up an on-line catalog so patrons can easily determine if we have a book and if it is available.
-
By developing programs to fit faculty needs.
-
By working with library workers to provide the best customer service possible through a variety of professional development programs.
-
By working with other educational institutions to share and develop needed resources.
-
By using technology in such a way that students and faculty may obtain the best references to meet their needs. This will involve the use of both pay and free databases.
-
By continuing to update our collection and access to online materials.
-
By working closely with the Belizean Studies Department and the Jesuit Community to collate and protect the valuable materials relating to Belize and the history of St. John’s College.
