Recapping January 2025!

In January 2025, SJC proudly celebrated an impressive milestone, marking 138 years of unwavering commitment to excellence in education and service. This significant occasion was commemorated with a special Anniversary Mass, a gathering that not only highlighted the rich history of SJC but also served to honor the sacred Profession of Final Vows by Rev. Jeremy K. Zipple, S.J. The atmosphere was filled with reverence and joy as members of the community came together to witness this profound spiritual commitment, celebrating Fr. Jeremy's dedication to his vocation and the Jesuit mission.

In addition to this momentous celebration, we were privileged to host the 2025 Higher Education Leadership Gathering (HELG) Conference, a prestigious event for the United States Central & Southern Province. This gathering brought together a distinguished group of leaders, including the Provincial, Presidents, Provosts, and Superiors of the Association of Jesuit Colleges. The conference provided a unique platform for these influential figures to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of Jesuit education, reflecting on SJC’s enduring legacy of educational excellence and service not only in Belize but also on a global scale. Participants shared insights, strategies, and best practices aimed at enhancing the impact of Jesuit institutions in their respective communities, fostering collaboration and innovation among the attendees.

As we look back on these significant events, we raise our glasses to celebrate Fr. Jeremy and his remarkable journey, while also honoring the rich history of SJC. This moment serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold the values of education, service, and social justice that have been the cornerstone of our institution for nearly a century and a half. Together, we are not only honoring our past but also actively shaping a brighter future for generations to come!
