The St. John’s College delegation recently returned from an inspiring and impactful trip to Washington, D.C. The journey began with a visit to the Organization of American States headquarters, where the group had the honor of meeting H.E. Nestor Mendez, Assistant Secretary General and a proud Belizean. The delegation then visited the Belize Embassy for an insightful discussion with H.E. Ambassador Lynn Young, who shared valuable perspectives on diplomacy and Belize’s role on the international stage. H.E. Nestor Mendez and H.E. Lynn Young are alums of Saint John's College.
The group also explored Georgetown University, a prestigious Jesuit institution, where they experienced its rich academic environment and reflected on the shared values of Jesuit education.
During the Model Organization of American States, students from across the Americas collaborated, exchanged ideas, and proposed solutions to pressing global issues. The energy and passion displayed by these young leaders were truly inspiring, highlighting the power of unity and dialogue in addressing challenges.
This trip was a remarkable experience that showcased the talent and dedication of our St. John’s College students. We are proud of their achievements and excited to see how they will use these experiences to impact their communities and beyond.
